Arrowhead Blanket - so far, so good.
I have completed 8 squares of the Arrowhead Blanket. Again, I obtained the pattern from Better Homes and Gardens "White Crochet". Each square are approximately 2 feet x 2 feet. I need to make 7 more and add a border. My kids are so excited.
WIP
I'm still working on the blanket for my kiddos. It's 2x3 squares right now and I'm going to be making it 3x5. I'm really liking the way it's turning out.
I've also been working on some keychains. I found a great bead store and tried working up some keychains with crochet thread, but found that the thread is just not holding up.
So, I'm using illusion cord and wire, but am having a hard time closing the ends. I do have a book on beading, but am still having a hard time figuring it all out.
The bead store has classes, so I'll probably look into some of those classes as I tend to learn more doing hands on work.

WIP Wednesday
So, I'm working on making a cleaning pad for my swiffer. I made one that works. (That's good, huh?) I used it to dust my floors and it worked just the same as the ones swiffer sells. I also used it when I sprayed my Windex Multi-Task on the floor. That worked out super! So, now I just have to make a few a bit bigger than the original. My mom wants a few, and I want a few.
I was working on a bag for my kids, but I'm not sure I'm going to finish that. I haven't quite decided. They have lots of bags and I don't want the thing lying around not getting used.
I am working on a blanket for the kiddos. They like to sit on the couch together, but they like to cuddle under blankets. Because I wasn't much of a blanket maker in the past, they don't have any blankets made by me. I have started making them "Arowhead Afghan With Popcorn Stitches" found in "Better Homes & Gardens, White Crochet" Copyright 1988. I'm making it in Caron Simply Soft, Baby Blue with an H hook. I'm happy with how it's progressing. I'm at round 7 of 18 and I need to make about 12 squares. It depends on how long it ends up being. I want the 6 kids to all fit under it!

Saturday - No FInished Projects, but a fun day
We drove up about 1 1/2 hours to where my parents live today to visit with some friends we met on a firearms forum. They were vacationing there and so we met for lunch.
My husband and I are on the left.
On our drive up, I finished another rose pouf. I also started on a swiffer pad I want to make. I guess I'll have to think of a name for them that doesn't include the "s" word. :) I actually completed one in about an hour, but I didn't make it quite right as I wasn't writing down the instructions as I went along. So, I will use the one I made, but have since wrote down instructions and will make another one following those.
I also found an afghan in a book of "White Crochet" that I want to make. The motifs (yes, motifs) remind me of doilies. They are 11" so I wouldn't have to make too many.
Time to get back to "Yoyager". Good night.

Pineapple Doily
I'm still working on this doily. I've completed 3 cups. I am going to have this finished tomorrow and have pictures up. :)
Good night.

Mother's Day Gift is complete
Well, I have my mom taken care of for Mother's Day. I just finished the rose poof for my mom. I really liked how it turned out. It worked up quickly. My left hand hurts a bit from holding the poof while trying to crochet into sl sts, but it's well worth it. Depending on my day tomorrow and if I can finish my doily, I may work up a couple more poofs.
I used a size H hook and Peaches N Cream White and Variegated Red.
This is where I got the pattern.
More WIPs
Well, I'm almost finished with the water bottle cozy thing and the doily. I purchased 7 glass votive holders and 7 purple candles. A friend who showed interest in the doily loves purple, so I thought the purple candles would add a nice touch. I'll post a picture when I'm finished.
I am also going to try and make up a Swiffer cloth. I got the idea here. I am going to use my Aunt Lydia's denim and an H hook.
I have also decided on a Mother's Day gift. Although my mom would love this doily, I want to give her something that will help her pamper herself. I purchased some bath salts and shower gel and am going to make her a rose pouff I found here. She'll enjoy that.
Well, the storm has passed and the kids are playing so I'm going to get some "shaying" done. That's what my two year old calls it. ;P

Doily finished!
Well, almost. :) I finished the edging. You would think that the edging was the last step, right? Not with this doily. I still have to make the pineapple cups.
Hopefully I'll be able to finish that up tomorrow.
Today I tried making a water bottle cozy, adapted from a pattern by Dot at Crochet by the hook. I'm using a size H hook and Aunt Lydia's Denim Quick Crochet. I purchased it to make a doily over a year ago, but never got around to making it. It's a strange color. Not ecru, not beige. Looks more like recycled newspaper. :) Really. But, I have it here and should use it for SOMETHING. :D
I also helped out hookandi over at Crochetville by testing a hat pattern, so that took up some of my afternoon.
I'm still working on the bottle cozy and the hat needs a little work. I want to finish this doily, though.
I have to get up early tomorrow, though, to take the Fantastic Four (my four oldest children) to the park for their Athletic Class and I'm having a friend come over to talk crochet. I'm looking forward to that.
Can't wait to see you, B!
I hope to post pictures of finished projects tomorrow. Good night.

Another day, another stitch, another round
I completed 2 more rounds of my doily today. I was so enjoying the rythm of the stitches as I was completeing the rounds. Such a comforting, relaxing sensation. I love to crochet. I love the feeling of the thread between my fingers. I love feeling the stitches being made, feeling it through my hook.
I have 3 more rounds to do on the doily and then I have to make the pineapple "cups". There are 5 rows for each pineapple and each cup has 3 pineapples. I hope to finish this soon, but I am so enjoying shaping the thread into this doily.
:)
Just a few more stitches
It's 20 minutes until 5:00. Hubby will be home in about an hour. I'm only making grilled cheese for dinner. I have a crochet meeting tonight at 7:30. Think I can get a few more stitches in before I need to make dinner? I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.
Just one more stitch

Will I ever finish?
I am to the point in this doily where I am asking myself if I will really finish it. I don't know if you ever get there, but with almost every project I crochet, I get to a point where I wonder if it will end. Sometimes I cannot wait to be done as the enjoyment factor just wasn't there. Other times, I enjoyed it so much I don't want it to end. This time around, well, I'm enjoying the doily, even considering making another one. But it seems to go on forever. I only completed one full round today.
I would have crocheted more, but was distracted by a tear-jerker movie, "The Man on Fire". wow. That's about all I can say right now.
I am hoping to be able to complete more of this doily tomorrow. I have my crochet meeting tomorrow evening. That will be fun! I can't wait.
The angel afghan was shipped out to Arizona today for my friend to give her mom as a Mother Day gift.
Oh yeah! Mother's Day. What will I do for mom this year? Maybe this doily I'm working on. She deserves it. She's great.
Mom, I love you!
Lacy Poncho
Ok, I was able to convince my oldest daughter, Emily (11) to pose for a picture with her new poncho (yeah, right! She loves the camera!!!)
Wow! That's bright. That's NOT the color we chose. It's more muted. Must be the light and all.
To read more about the poncho and where I got the pattern read here.

Well, a new month, a new look. My blog is new, but I spent a good 2 hours working on it today to be on my webpage now. My honey graciously spent a great deal of time with me working to get it on my webpage. He's great. :)
This weekend I quickly made up a lacy poncho for my oldest daughter, Emily. I showed her two styles.
This one found here
And this one which was actually an adaptation of the first.
She chose the original and we went to Walmart to pick out a color. I chose Caron Simply Soft as I really don't like the feel of the Red Heart. She chose a dark purple and I will post a picture of it tomorrow.
I am still working on the Pineapple Eyelet Lace Doily. I was having a problem figuring out Round 23. I had thought I was reading "sk next group of 4 ch-3 sps and first ch-2 sp of next dbl shell" but it says, "sk next 3 groups of 4 ch-3 sps and first ch-2 sp of next dbl shell". It happens to me sometimes. I'm used to reading charts and get confused sometimes when I just read the directions. I have found, from reading the charts, I like to see what it is I'm going to do and it's hard for me to read through the "matrix" of the pattern sometimes. Oh well. At least I figured it out on that round and only had to frog a couple of yards of thread instead of a couple of ROUNDS!
Pictures of the poncho to come tomorrow.
One more thing...
I just added another row of decreasing hdc to Emily's poncho. The yarn is a little stretchy and it's too wide for her shoulders. So I did 2 hdc, hdc dec around and then I did the crab stitch (backward sc) around to secure it. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if it fits better. :)
